Cohousing is a type of neighborhood designed and managed by the people who live there. Cohousing combines privacy and community in a clustered, pedestrian-oriented neighborhood.
You own your own home, as well as a share of the common facilities. The common buildings will include a large dining room, kitchen, living room, children's space, exercise room, and workshops.
See a great short video about cohousing.
We are under construction! We have homes still available for sale and welcome new folks! We also have affordable homes. Want to be a part of it? Contact us!
Green planning, Green building
We're committed to open, green space. 28.5 acres of our land is preserved as conservation land. Clustered duplex and triplex buildings leave most of our remaining 37 acres as open space, and clustered parking reduces our overall asphalt.
For more details, see: "How is Mosaic Commons Green?"
Other green features:
- Shared resources! (cars, lawnmowers, tools, etc.)
- Fewer car trips - Carpool to work, or work in our Home Office building. Spend more social time in the community.
- Shared organic gardens
- Meets or surpasses many LEED requirements for green building
- Super insulation of walls and roofs
- Fresh air ventilation system and low-toxicity building materials
- Designed with enough properly-oriented roof space for a future photovoltaic system
